The skipjack tuna, also known as katsuo, is a medium-sized pelagic fish found worldwide in tropical and warm-temperate waters. Growing up to 1 meter, it lacks scales except on the lateral line and corselet. A key species for fisheries, it forms large shoals and is prey for sharks.
