Widely present in temperate and tropical waters across the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans, it’s recognized as a vagrant in the Mediterranean Sea. Adults typically inhabit coastal waters, while juveniles prefer more distant oceanic areas. Spawning occurs in coastal and oceanic regions at temperatures around 24°C, leading to varied spawning seasons across different oceans.
